Pastor's Welcome!

Dear Friend!

Welcome to St. Stanislaus Parish in the heart of South Omaha, Nebraska since 1919.  Our parish is under the patronage of St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr (go to the menu tab "Patron Saints" to learn more about him).  Whatever brings you to our website, know that you are welcome here.

St Stanislaus celebrates its Polish heritage in many and varied ways.  The best known is the annual Polish Festival on the 3rd Sunday in August.  People come from near and far to enjoy the Polish food, the polka music, the games and, of course, the beer.  We regularly sing Polish hymns at Mass and honor and venerate Polish saints.  In recent years statues of St. Maximilian Kolbe and St. Faustina were added as well as portraits of Blessed Jerzey Popieluszko (brutally murdered by Communists in 1984) and St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (martyr of Auschwitz, August 9, 1942).  The life and martyrdom of St. Stanislaus are portrayed in the stunningly beautiful clerestory windows.

More importantly, the Catholic faith is taught and preached in its entirety.  There is a framed statement which was hung inside the front entrance of the church in 1995 which reads, “We the people of St. Stanislaus Parish pledge to remain a cornerstone of Catholic faith in S. Omaha by sharing the responsibility for implementing the vision of Jesus and for passing it on to our children and theirs.”  It reminds us of the very reason we are here.  Jesus Christ is the very cornerstone of our lives and we wish to share Him with you.

Please take the time to explore our website to learn more.  Whenever you are in the area we would love to have you join us for Mass.
